1. Filling weight

When buying a new washing machine, the first thing you should look at is the filling weight. The filling weight determines how many kilos of laundry your washing machine can hold. The higher the weight, the more clothes it can hold. Are you looking for a washing machine for a large area? Then choose a washing machine with a filling weight of at least 8 kilos. The indication per household is as follows:

Household of 1 – 2 persons: 7 kilos

Household of  3 – 4 persons: 8 kilos

Household of 5 or more: 9 kilos or more

2. RPM

The higher the spin speed of the washing machine, the drier your laundry will come out of the washing machine. A high spin speed (also called rpm – round per minute –) ensures that your washing machine spins quickly. Do you have a washing machine with 1400 or 1600 spins? Then your laundry will not need to dry as long.

3. Noise level

Do you have your washing machine near your bedroom? Then pay attention to the noise level of the washing machine. There is a choice of the following noise levels for washing machines:

Very quiet (71 decibels or less)

Quiet (72 or 73 decibels)

Normal (74 to 77 decibels)

Loud (78 decibels or more)

4. Energy consumption 

A washing machine uses a lot of energy. To see how much energy a washing machine uses, look at the energy class, which ranges from A+ to A+++, with the latter being the most economical.
